This 100 hour Yoga Nidra Facilitator Training can be combined with any two Somah Journeys or Tina Nance Yoga Therapy 100 hour modules for a unique advanced 300 hour yoga teacher training program registered with Yoga Alliance.
Set yourself apart as a yoga teacher, therapist, coach, counsellor, or holistic health professional by utilising the powerful technique of Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) with your students, your clients, and for your own self-care.
We live in a world in crisis because of the value we place on ‘thinking and doing’ rather than ‘feeling and being’. This exquisitely presented 10-day Yoga Nidra Facilitator Training is an opportunity to help yourself – and others – reclaim personal and planetary balance by exploring the deepest consciousness of Being.
As a systematic sleep-based meditation technique with a fast ability to induce peacefulness, Yoga Nidra is beautifully restorative and utterly transformative. Our unique approach involves honouring the radically important notion of rest within the wider context of the energy cycles inherent in nature.
Yoga Nidra is Mindfulness on steroids & a 45 minute practice of Yoga Nidra is said to be the equivalent of 4 hours of deep sleep
Supported by modern neuroscience, this ancient practice induces profound mental, physical and emotional restoration, unwinds stress and tension in the nervous system, heals trauma, and reconnects you to the deep presence and underlying peace that’s always alive and awake within you.
With stress as the root cause of disease, anxiety and depression at epidemic levels, and with 1 in 3 of us chronically sleep deprived – rest is a radical act in contemporary times.
Yoga Nidra could well be the antidote to modern day living and is currently enjoying resurgence in popularity in yoga studios, coaching, hypnotherapy and traditional therapy practices for pain management, PTSD and personal, professional and spiritual development.
Somah Journeys from the prestigious School of Sacred Arts in Bali (the original and longest-running yoga teacher training at Ubud’s renowned Yoga Barn) provides the highest quality educational and immersive experiences, facilitated by an internationally renowned faculty.
Director and lead mentor Simone MacKay (E-YRT 500 & YACEP) combines 20 years of teaching and practicing Classical and Tantra yoga with specialised Yoga Nidra study under leading experts Dr. Richard Miller, Dr. Kamini Desai and Dr. Uma Dinsmore-Tuli to offer this unique and transformational advanced yoga teacher training.
This training is a non-dogmatic, experiential Yoga Nidra training that dynamically explores this ancient philosophy practice combined with contemporary research in meditation, sleep, neurological and physical health.Yoga Nidra can give you a deep understanding of the therapeutic, energetic, emotional and cognitive tools to reduce stress and tension, improve health and accelerate growth.
Inspired by wisdom traditions from ancient to contemporary, mystic to scientific, transcendent to earth-based, we’ll explore the process of embodiment through the yogic ‘5 layers of Being’ (the Koshas) with a mix of still and dynamic activities. These 5 layers are: the physical body, breath body, mental/emotional body, intuition and soul essence.
One full day is dedicated to each Kosha. By understanding the entirety of who we are, we move into new states of consciousness to discover our True Self and nourish our mind/body balance. This positively ripples out in seen and unseen ways. It transforms the way we act in relationships, serve our communities and contribute to change in the wider world.
The first part of the Yoga Nidra Facilitator Training is an open 7-day Immersion, which focuses on total mind-body nourishment, the healing of trauma, and profound restoration on all levels. There will be additional daily breakout sessions for the facilitators in training, who then finish with three practice days dedicated to the in-depth building of skills and tools to confidently guide Yoga Nidra meditations. You will also learn to support others into deep restoration and healing states for profound peace.

Yoga Nidra, or ‘Yogic Sleep” is a sleep based, guided meditation technique. It is the term for both the practice and the experience of consciously moving through and releasing blockages from the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of Self in a unique, systematic, and comprehensive way.
A simple yet profound approach, Yoga Nidra is scientifically proven to unwind the nervous system and induce complete relaxation and restoration. This powerful tool allows you to explore the nature of consciousness. By learning to induce a state of trance, practitioners can rewire neural pathways in the brain for “neuroplasticity” to erase limiting belief systems, and plant the seeds for radical transformation in our waking state.
Rooted in Tantric philosophy, it is a secret doorway to the divine intelligence that lies within us and the liberation that awaits us. These same notions are also reflected back within the shamanic approaches across cultures including vision quests, dream work and shamanic journeying.
Especially helpful for those who are challenged by traditional forms of formal meditation, this guided technique brings you deep into the essence of who and what you truly are in a powerful, accessible way. Without the need to sit in an upright meditation posture, Yoga Nidra is usually practiced lying down, and by being guided systematically by the facilitator, it’s far easier to release into the profundity of the experience, sometimes during the very first session.
We’ll be hosted by “The ‘Yogi’s Garden’ (www.yogisgardenbali.com) a brand new permaculture retreat centre tucked away in the heart of Bali’s luscious, tropical countryside. Immersing ourselves far away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trail to rest deeply in nature, we’ll explore our true nature and connect with our inner peace and stillness, all the while being cradled in the arms of Nidra Shakti.
Chef prepared, vegetarian meals are grown on-site in the centre’s organic gardens for prana-packed nourishment throughout our stay.

Tina is deeply passionate about creating opportunities for people of all backgrounds to connect directly and experientially with their body-mind and Spirit via the Yogic Arts, & is the founder of The TNYT Yoga Therapy School & the somatic practice of Embodied Unwinding.

Tina’s embodiment practices are focused on consciously unraveling our body-mind’s contractions with guided awareness. Cultivating the art of deep presence, compassionate holding, focused awareness and conscious breath within each asana, exploring all eight limbs of yoga simultaneously, on the mat. Connecting to our innate essence as loving presence, containing & embracing all that arises, & inviting the Integration of body, mind and Spirit.
Tina is currently a resident yoga teacher & teacher trainer at The Yoga Barn in Bali.

Simone Mackay’s Yoga Nidra has become a home for me, an anchor through times of transition as a way to calm my nervous system and as a reminder of my true nature, my shining light. I worked with Simone to create a personalized Nidra that gave the practice of connecting to my intention, my sankalpas, and to finding spaciousness in my inner sanctuary. The seeds that I’ve planted through my intention and practice are blossoming in ways I never would have thought imaginable.
— Margo, USA
Simone MacKay’s and Emma Lowe’s Yoga and Yoga Nidra practices were exactly what my entire being needed.
— Ashton, UK
I was probably the last person to ever try out Yoga Nidra. Classic no pain no gain mentality. Thankfully Simone was sent to my Yoga teacher training and I had the chance to experience the effects of Yoga Nidra. I loved it so much that I would be the first one to complain if we skipped the Nidra. As professional athlete I know how important it is to work hard, but that only gets you so far. If you truly want to internalize whatever you’re doing, you need to give your body and mind space to process. And if laying around doing nothing sounds boring to you, like it did to me at first, you’re the kind of person who can really benefit from Yoga Nidra.
